CPM understands the importance of fire safety and the role it plays in keeping occupants of buildings safe.

We have experience in inspecting external and internal fire safety aspects of all types of properties including high and low rise residential, commercial and industrial. Our holistic approach allows us to take a pragmatic view of fire safety, and this ensures our advice is both reasonable and practical.

Step 1 Fire Risk Appraisal of External Walls (FRAEW) PAS9980

An initial assessment of the external walls to determine if a full Fire Risk Appraisal of External Walls (FRAEW) is required.

Full Fire Risk Appraisal of External Walls (FRAEW) PAS9980

A Fire Risk Appraisal of External Walls (FRAEW) assess the risk to life posed by the external walls of a property and must be undertaken in accordance with PAS 9980:2022.

Fire Risk Assessments

Fire Risk Assessments are required by law for blocks of flats and business premises. The process consists of a review of the building to assess its fire risk, with recommendations made to improve fire safety in the building.

Fire Door Inspections

We inspect the condition of internal fire doors, either separately or as part of the compartmentation survey.

EWS1 certificates

EWS1 checks are carried out by one of our qualified fire engineers who completes a risk assessment on the building’s walls and then declares the building safe. The EWS1 form is then valid for five years.

Internal compartmentation surveys

We inspect all internal walls and conduct compartmentation surveys to check that the internal walls comply with the guidelines and that, in the event of a fire, they'll contain the fire for as long as they should.
